Workshop tasks can include many types of manual handling activities, from carrying heavy, bulky loads to using and maintaining equipment.
Wherever possible manual handling tasks should be eliminated, but those that remain must be suitably assessed and controls used to reduce the risk of injury before the work starts.

Some manual handling tasks eg more high risk activities, may require a more detailed assessment.
