Health and safety management profile (HASMAP) audits

The University uses HASMAP (Health And Safety MAnagement Profile) a standard set of criteria developed for the higher education sector, to assess health and safety performance.

This can be carried out in a number of ways

  • Self-assessment by Faculties, Directorates, Schools, Institutes etc using the Self assessment tool (SAT)
  • Safety Services undertaking bespoke audits

It is expected that any lessons learned from an audit are shared locally, within a Faculty/Directorate/Schools/Institute, with the expectation that managers assess their current practice and review their own health and safety performance.
