Biological/Genetic Modification safety toolkit
The Universty Arrangements Chapter 3 covers managing biological safety (including work on genetically modified organisms).
This toolkit contains information needed for users to manage the risks associated with their
- biological hazards, and
- work with genetically modified organisms (GMOs)
and gives guidance on
- managing the facilities where this work is carried out
- the remit of local Bio/GM committees, and
- other related hazards e,g, waste, transport and chemicals
The University's Biological Safety Advisor, together with University Safety Co-ordinators, is able to advise schools and individuals on appropriate facilities, operational matters, risk assessments and training for work with GMOs and other biological materials.
