Fieldwork
The University Arrangements enable a risk-based approach to the safety management of fieldwork activities which includes undertaking interviews with the public, as well as activities such as survey/collection work carried out by field scientists.
The UCEA Guidance on Health and Safety in Fieldwork covers a range of activities and will help you assess the risks.
A range of risk assessments are available to guide users.
Note relating to business travel
Staff and students will also frequently travel on University business to conferences, meetings events etc. both in the UK and abroad. Whilst this is included in the UCEA definition of fieldwork the University has provided specific information for Business travel.
